why

the reason we do what we do

Nearly 49% of veterans discharging from the Defence Force develop mental health issues within the first 12 months of discharge.
From 2001 to 2017, there were 419 suicides in serving, reserve and ex-serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel who have served since 2001.

The concept of the 24 Hours of Heroes event started in 2016 in Canada with 24 “Hero” WODs - in order to raise funds and awareness for Veterans and First Responders living with Operational Stress Injuries. To-date, they have raised approximately $290,000 towards the mental health services provided by Wounded Warriors Canada.
